Immersed, savouring, my eyes searching, moving over and through, and then, my spirit paused.

This piece is inspired by an afternoon at the beach near my childhood home in Nova Scotia when I was snorkeling and observed the underwater landscape through an astral and aquatic lens.

Everything was light. Seaweed branches glowed amber and gold in a sea of rich indigos and royal blues. Moving my gaze up, looking through the liquid veil to the sky above I was momentarily blinded by the radiance of the sun as I felt the heat of its kiss. What appeared to me as dancing stars were glowing turquoise bubbles of air hovering near the surface. Barely there, on the dark mirror, its movement slight, was a subtle watery reflection of the aquatic world below.
